ST. Martin, St. Barth, and Anguilla
Located in the Leeward Island group of the Lesser Antilles, Anguilla, St. Martin, and St. Barths are three beautiful islands, with each being no more than 27 miles away from the other. Anguilla is a coral atoll famous for its world-class beaches, St. Martin features palm-fringed bays and a plethora of watersports, and St. Barths is a volcanic island with pristine waters and laid-back ambiance. As such, this group of islands is perfect to explore during a single Caribbean yacht charter. The unspoiled Caribbean island of Anguilla, featuring over 30 incredible white-sand beaches, is the perfect place to hop on to a rental yacht and begin your private charter.
Protected as a marine reserve, this charming island is excellent for scuba diving with seven fascinating shipwrecks to explore. Anchor here to explore the WallBlake House, an ancient and unique plantation house. Enjoy historic sites, such as Old Salt Factory at Sandy Ground Village — a stunning white-sand beach lined with restaurants and a dive shop. A short yacht ride away are Prickly Pear Cays, two uninhabited islands which are part of Anguilla’s Marine Park.
Towards the south of Anguilla is Rendezvous Bay, arguably one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Its shore overlooks the next destination of your
private yacht charter 10 nautical miles away: the half-French and half-Dutch (yet fully Caribbean) island of St. Martin. Start exploring by cruising towards the northern French side of St. Martin, home to the town of Marigot featuring lively artisan markets and plenty of harbors (including Marina Fort Louis and Marina Port de Lonvilliers). Anchoring in St. Martin will give you the opportunity to zipline over Loterie Farm, a private nature park, and dine at a restaurant in the beachfront boulevard of the ‘Gourmet Capital of the Caribbean’, Grand Case. For watersports, turn your charter yacht towards David’s Hole located on Red Bay, or the Pinel Island (just off Orient Bay).
Continue sailing towards the southern Dutch side of the island, St. Maarten, and enjoy the beach at Simpsons Bay Marina, where there are plenty of options ashore for shopping, and several casinos. Snorkel near an interesting little reef at the Pelican Beach or meander past shops and eateries all the way down to St Maarten Yacht Club. Cruising further, you can anchor your yacht at Cole Bay and Great Bay to enjoy stunning views!
Next, navigate your luxury yacht approximately 16 nautical miles further south towards the French island of St. Barths, which is often referred to as ‘a playground for the rich and famous’.
Also known as St. Bart or Saint-Barthelemy, this island has a quiet and relaxed ambiance with a lack of casinos and large resorts, making it a perfect addition to your Caribbean yachting experience. Even cruise ship traffic is minimal here!
Explore protected coves at Saline Beach or enjoy delicious French-Caribbean cuisine at one of the Caribbean’s best beach clubs, Nikki Beach St. Barth. You surely can’t miss the Barths’ capital, Gustavia, known for its galleries, boutiques, and open-air markets, such as Le Ti-Marché.
Experience the best of Caribbean yacht chartering at the beautiful islands of St. Martin, Anguilla, and St. Barths, and marvel at their luxuriant beauty and laid-back charm!
